Hi again!
Just a quick update! Its day 4 of Cycle 1 and I am down another pound today for a total of 3.5# since Monday March 3rd. I'm pleased with that and am doing well on it so far. I did have 2 lean burgers for dinner tonight on a no carb egg roll (aka oopsie roll that you make with egg & cream cheese) I was hungry when I got home from work so I did have a couple handfuls of almonds too while grilling up the burgers to tide me over, but I did not touch the fries I made for the family and that was a great victory. Normally, I would have a bunch of fries too and then pick at the leftovers.
So anyways, there's my quick update. Will keep you posted.
Thanks for reading and for your comments!

Cycle 1, Day 3
Hello friends!
Well, so far so good! I'm on Day 3 of Cycle 1 of the 17 day diet and all is going well. 2 weeks left to go. I am amazed at how much better I am feeling already. My belly isn't as bloated and I don't have the carb & sugar cravings. I got on the scale this morning and I am down 2.5#. Yippee!!! It's all good!
Today is Ash Wednesday. If you are catholic, its the first day of Lent. I usually give up diet soda but this year I am not going to eat junk food and stick to my 17DD regimen for 40 days. My hope is to be down 20# by Easter. I believe I can do it.... so stay tuned!!
For those of you who aren't familiar with the 17 day diet, Cycle 1 is the strictest cycle. It is a detox cycle to help rid your body of sugar & carbs. You are permitted to eat unlimited lean meats chicken, fish, turkey & eggs. You are also allowed unlimited cleansing vegetables, most of them are low carb varieties. You are permitted 2 fruit serving/day (berries, peaches, oranges & apples etc) both must be eaten before 2pm, as well as 2 probiotic servings (yogurt, live active cottage cheese, etc) and 1-2 Tablespoons of healthy fats such as olive oil or flaxseed oil. No "bread" carbs until Cycle 2. On Cycle 2 you get to add in lean beef, shrimp & pork as well as 2 "bread carbs" per day. You alternate a C1 day with a C2 day for the entire 17 days of C2. Have I confused you?? I hope not. Its really not that difficult, once you read the book but it is supposed to confuse your metabolism which is a good thing. Very few plateaus. I needed to shake things up and this plan does work well for me.
I hope you are all well. Thanks to Kay & Rosalie for your support & comments!
Have a great day!!

A new month and a new beginning!
Good morning friends!
I'm back!!! Well, looks like I done a real doozie to myself and I have gained about 20# back from my lowest weight. It is so disheartening because I feel like I have been at this for such a long time, but truth be told, my heart hasn't been in it for quite some time, and I honestly don't know why. I feel like I am obsessed with losing weight but I haven't done anything about it....and I'm still going to Weight Watchers!! I'm almost embarrassed to even be sitting there because its been 3 years now and I am gaining weight but I have met some wonderful friends there and they have been great support to me so I plan to continue to go. My middle sister Chris reached her goal last August. She looks great and she is very inspiring. She lives the plan, every day. Something I haven't done. I live the plan Monday - Friday and have taken the weekends off. Been doing this for a long time. Guess what Sher....How's that been working for ya?? Ummm....not so good! So its time to pull up the bootstraps once again and get back on the horse!!
So, I'm back and I'm ready to give it my best! With Lent starting on Wednesday, I wanted to do something that was a true sacrifice & challenge. For the last 3 years, I have given up diet pop/soda. This year, I have decided to do something a little different. If you remember., last year I did a diet called "The 17 Day Diet" by Dr Mike Moreno. It is a healthy diet plan with rapid results when you follow the program correctly. The best part is, even though I had only lost 12# I looked like I had lost more. I wasn't bloated, I lost 3 inches off my belly and people really noticed the change in me. So my plan is to follow the 17dd "Full out", no cheating starting today and through Easter. You may be thinking, "Sherri, that's just not right" but I think this is what I need to turn myself around and get back on track. The first 2 cycles are challenging but once you get into the groove of it, its actually pretty easy to do. The hardest part is not cheating, as is with any plan.
The 17 Day Diet consists of (4) 17 day cycles. Cycle 1 (C1) is the strictest but it is where you are detoxing from sugar and carbs for the first 17 days. I have found C1 to be the most rewarding as you feel great on it and you consistently lose weight and you can not only feel the difference but you can SEE the difference! There are 3 more 17 day cycles. I wont elaborate on them now but I will as I go along. So today is Day 1 of Cycle 1 (D1C1) and I'm ready!! I just weighed in....its ugly! I'm not posting my weight but I will post my losses.
I hope you will join me these next 43 days and beyond. My daughter graduates from High School on June 11th and I don't want to hide from the camera. I want to be happy with myself, and how I look and feel. Right now, I feel miserable that I have allowed myself to gain back 20# of the over 40# that I had lost. No more beating myself up though. Its time to forgive myself and move on! Today is a new day....the slate is wiped clean!
Have a wonderful day!!!

Happy April!
Hello friends!
I know its been a while.....as usual, no excuses. Just busy here! Just wanted to share a quick update with you all on how the 17 day diet is going. I am on Cycle 3 where I get to add in more foods and I can enjoy my 2 carb servings anytime of the day, & not just before 2pm. I will be on C3 until April 20th & I have to say, I LOVE cycle 3!!! Omg!! To have a piece of Trader Joe's sprouted wheat toast again was noting short of DIVINE!!! I went 34 days without a piece of bread or toast and although it was challenging at times, for the most part, it wasn't that bad. The cravings for sweets are pretty much gone and I feel as though my carbs are under control. Its a good feeling. So in a synopsis, I am on day 39 of eating this way and I am down about 12#. It has been a slow process but I have gone from 185.5 to 173.5 (on Saturday). I took my measurements and I have lost about 3" from my belly & waist. I'm pleased with the progress so far & its actually not been bad at all. I'm hoping to be at 169 by the end of April. I think I can do it! I'm ready to be in a size 12!
I'm tired tonight so I am off to get showered and then heading to bed. Just thought I would drop in and say hello.
Hope you are all doing well.... :)
Hugs!!

Consistently losing....life is Good!!!
Hello ladies!
I know I haven't posted in awhile, so I thought I would throw in a quick update for you all to let you know how things are going with me on the 17 Day Diet. So far, so good! I finished my first cycle on St. Patrick's Day and was down about 6# for the whole cycle. I went about a week with no losses, then started Cycle 2 and boom, lost about 1#/ day for 3 days straight. So my total is very close to 9# right now. It may seem slow to some, but for me, this is the most I have lost in a year! I feel really good and my clothes & tummy feel better & less puffy. I want to be down a full 10# by Easter & I think its possible. 10# in a month.....crazy!!
My sister is down about 8.5# this month and we are both getting used to eating this way. No fruit or carbs after 2pm while at first was challenging, is becoming habit now and I am getting used to not eating carbs at dinner. I still miss it sometimes though. I wont lie. I joined planet fitness last Friday and have only had the opportunity to go once but its a nice place & they have alot of machines which is great. I'm hoping that will help accelerate my weight loss, but I guess I need to go, huh? lol! Tomorrow after work is my plan. I had a dentist appt today & errands to run, then meeting my sisters for dinner at Ruby Tuesdays (salad bar) and we are taking a mesh wreath making class. I'm not crafty at all so this should be interesting! haha!
Hope you are all doing well. If I don't post again before the 31st, Have a wonderful Easter!

Wednesday Update...things are going great!
Hello friends!
Just a quick post to update you all on how things are going here. I am excited to report that I am down 5# already!!! woo hoo!!! I think I got on the scale 10x this morning because I couldn't believe it! My sister is down 3# & is on day 4 and I am on day 6. I fell hopeful that this may be the answer for me. I hope it is. It hasn't been bad at all. There is alot of prep work to do so I am cooking alot more, but if it helps me to lose 1#/day I will cook like a crazy woman! lol.I don't mind and with my sister doing this with me, we have been helping each other emotionally and with food prep. She works full time & I work part time so I have a little more time for the food prep than she does so today I shared with her some oopsie rolls & some apple flax protein muffins. The muffins are fabulous!!!
So I encourage you to give this a try if you want to try something new that is not only safe & healthy & created by a Dr., but its also pretty easy to follow. I am going to post the recipe for the apple flax muffins. They are soooo good with a little natures hollow peach jam on top! Heavenly!!!
Hope all is well with you girls! Happy Hump day!!!

A quick little update.... Monday Edition
Hello to all my wonderful blogger friends!
You girls are just the best! Thanks for being so kind & not saying I'm a messed up cotton headed ninnymonger who has no direction in her dieting life .(Like Will Farrell said in the movie Elf) LOL!
I want to read each of your blogs and am sorry I haven't had a chance to yet but I will get there. Thanks to Dawn, Rosalie, Pattie, Kay, Katie, Beth and oh shoot I am missing one more person......oh forgive me, I just cant think of it at the moment but thank you all for your comments. :)
So I wanted to give you all an update on how things are going. I started 17DD on Friday March 1st and I am happy to report, so far so good! I have been following and am starting to find my groove with it & am liking it. as of this morning, I am down 3#. Yay!!! I am hoping to lose 10# in Cycle 1 which will end on March 17th. Most people lose between 10-15# in Cycle 1. I think if I lost 15#, I would seriously faint! My sister and I have been really struggling on WW and I talked with her on the phone on Sat and she also decided to do it with me so she is on Day 2 & was down 1# as of this morning. She and I got together on Saturday & did some prep work for the week. We made turkey chili (that might I add was fabulous!), we made protein poppers (lemon & chocolate) that are like little bite size cakes that are made with protein powder &They are really yummy and we also made the mock egg rolls for sandwiches. Shes not crazy about them but I actually like them alot. I love spending time with my sister and she is really one of my best friends. We have both come so far with our weight loss and I told her "we can do this...we can do anything for 17 days". Her birthday is March 23rd & she will be 50. She wants to be down 10# by her birthday as it will take her into a new decade of weight. She is so pretty & has a personality & a smile that is infectious.I pray that she hangs in there. I am going to continue to do my very best but need to add in that darned exercise component to get things moving but I am just so darned tired after work its the last thing I want to do. I need to start slow, maybe 5-10 mins at a time.
Well, thanks for listening. I will keep you all posted on my progress.
Hugs to you all!!

So before you think I'm crazy.....
Good morning friends!
Well, I wrote that last post on Monday & started my day off well with a low sugar, low carb breakfast. As the day progressed, I found that I really wanted my yogurt, and a piece of fruit. I had a talk with myself and decided that I probably made a rash decision to follow BFC again. It just isn't for me & I know in my heart, it could never be a lifestyle for me. Please don't think I'm a nutcase here. I have been so "all over the place" in my thoughts about what to do and it has been making me crazy that I cant seem to make a decision about what plan I would like to follow. Sigh...its rough being a Libra! lol. But I know with out a doubt, cutting out fruit & yogurt for me isn't the answer.
So anyways, let me tell you what happened to me the other day and you will understand why I decided to go a different route. I was at work on Wed and was in our pain clinic. As I was admitting this lady, and I asked her to verify her height & weight. She said her height & her weight was 142. Then she said to me "I wouldn't be this weight if it weren't for the 17 Day Diet". Whoa!! That was the other plan I was teetering over! So we got to talking and she told me her story and how she had lost 42# and her husband has lost 60# in 4 MONTHS!!! Holy cow!! She said she has started the diet last year with her husband and that she has been on every diet known to man and this diet was the easiest with the most rapid results. I did this plan last August and on the first 17 day cycle lost about 10#, which was great. I did not follow through with Cycle 2, don't ask me why because I should have. Anyways, the more I got to talking to her, the more I started to think that perhaps God placed this woman in my path for a reason. EVERYONE is placed in our paths for a reason but I really feel she was divinely placed for me. The ironic thing about it was, SHE told me that she felt that I was put into her path for a reason. I cant describe it, but I walked away from Work on Wed with more clarity than I have had in a really long time. She told me to read the book again (17 day diet by Dr. Mike Moreno) and I did. I decided that on March 1st I would start and promised myself that I would not cheat & would be true to the plan....100%. If you aren't familiar with the diet, it is actually pretty simple. There are 4 cycles, each of them last 17 days. You start on Cycle 1 that has no "bread" carbs but you can eat unlimited lean proteins, vegetables, 2 servings of low sugar fruits eaten by 2 pm and not after, 2 servings of healthy oils (up to 2 T./daily) and 2 servings of probiotic rich dairy like yogurt. after the first cycle you go on to Cycle 2 & 3 where you get to add additional foods. Cycle 4 is a maintenance plan when you reach your goal weight. This plan is much more "up my alley" and I know that it is very successful and is in more alignment with my beliefs & thinking. So this is what I am doing right now. Hope you don't think I'm crazy. I'm really not. Just been a wandering mess for months and really need to shake things up again and get going. Spring & summer are right around the corner and i DO NOT want to wear a size 14 of anything this summer. I want to be a 10 and I WILL get there!
Thanks for listening. I will keep you all posted.

The confused girl finally has a plan!
Good morning!
Well, after alot of thought, and after reading Kay & Rosalie's comments (thank you ladies! ) I have decided to give the BFC a full out try for 1 week and see what my results are. I know Rosie that you think we need to commit to a lifetime plan, and I agree with that, but I need to "test the waters" and prove to my doubting self that this can work for me. I am in a huge funk and I need something that will not only work but show me some results. I did BFC before and recall that I did lose weight. The one thing I did notice when I followed it was that my belly was most definitely flatter and I had very few cravings so for the next week, I will keep you posted on how things are working out. I hope to have some good results to post next Monday.
So today, my starting weight was 183- 183.5 (my scale varies so I am using both numbers) My waist measurement today is 38" & around the belly button it is measuring 42". (A big fat uggh on those numbers and I cant believe that I am POSTING them to boot!!! Yikes!) But I am being upfront & honest here so we shall see what transpires.
Wish me luck and any suggestions are gladly received.
Happy Monday!

One confused girl here....
Hello friends!
I know, its been a long time since I last posted. No excuses to give. Anyways, hope you have all been well. I truly have missed you all and hope to be more dedicated to my blog....but no promises (sorry). I will try though.
I am in a deep funk with my weight loss efforts and I don't know if its just me, the weather, this time of year, or what it is that is causing the problem, but I am struggling and need help digging out of this hole I feel like I am in. I have still been attending WW meetings and started out in Jan strong with a loss of 6.5#. Yay! Well, I'm sad to say that Feb has been an absolute bust!! I have lost NOTHING! Zero...NADA!! My focus has wavered and I have felt like throwing in the towel this past week, but I wont because I don't EVER want to go back to where I was 2 years ago....218.5# and miserable and I know if I quit, I will be on my way to that number again. NO WAY!!! I am currently holding at about 180( and a size 14 regular) and have been gaining and losing the same 8-10# for the past year. My goal is to get to 150 but I just cant seem to get my head wrapped around staying focused to start losing again. I feel like the poster child for Barry Manilow's song "Trying to get the feeling again". I have met so many friends at WW and they are such an amazing support to me, I just cant leave them and I don't want to leave them. I love WW plan but lately, I think it is just too liberal for me. I am a "wild child" who needs the reins pulled in. I feel like if I give myself an inch I am totally trying to take a mile.
My head is spinning like crazy and I feel like maybe I need to mix it up a bit and try something different for a while. I know BFC works, but I cant wrap my head around eating all that fat & not worrying about it. I totally "get" the whole insulin response thing and the carb connection with it. I just struggle with that thinking and always have which is probably why I haven't stuck to that plan. I love the 17 Day Diet and have had success on it in the past but every morning I say I am gonna restart it, I waver & have some kind of carb for breakfast. (sigh) I am just a ship lost at sea here looking for a port. I need your help....what should I do??? I am so so confused!!!
I would love to hear your successes and what has helped you to get out of a funk. I need to start losing again but just feel like I need some direction. BFC or 17DD??? What to do?? What to do?? I am leaning toward the 17DD again because you can have yogurt & 2 fruits/day. They are limited fruits, but nonetheless, I am OK with that. Your input is so much appreciated.
We are going on a cruise in Oct and by golly I don't want to have to buy an ugly bathing suit again. Not that I want to wear a bikini, because I couldn't if I wanted to due to a very bad scar on my belly, but I would like to feel comfortable in a nice 1 piece suit that isn't ugly & a plus size or something that looks like grandma would wear. lol.
So this is my dilemma. Please share your thoughts.... I would love to hear some inspiration & ideas on how to get going again.
Have a great Sunday!!!

Happy Monday!
Good morning friends!
It's another Monday. I'm off work today and have lots to do but thought I would pop in & write a quick post. I am on Day 7 of my diet. I started fresh on Jan 1st and am down 4# according to my scale. I have been eating more protein rich foods and limiting my starchy carbs. There is something to be said about limiting your carb intake as I don't have the bloating that I normally have when I am eating carbs with reckless abandon. I wish that I could find the courage to follow BFC again but when I look at the high calorie & fat content in the allowed foods something in me says "you shouldn't do it. It's not good for you". I know Rosalie, Kay & many others would disagree as they are living proof that it works. I think that all the dieting over the years have my brain pre programmed to think this way. I have been following the 17 day diet format and it is very do able for me but I find myself eating many of the same foods & after a week, it starts getting a bit boring. I only have 10 more days in this cycle so I just need to keep going.
The basic gist of the 17 day diet is this:
Cycle 1~ 17 days
Unlimited protein~chicken, fish, turkey (no red meat allowed yet)
2 servings of pro biotic rich foods~ low sugar yogurt, live active cottage cheese, kefir etc
2 servings of fruit~ the list is limited & they should be eaten before 2pm
unlimited cleansing veggies~ a pretty vast list. I'm still not a veggie fan but embracing it in 2013
64 oz water daily
green tea/ 3 cups/day
you can have extras like stevia, sf jam, etc.
For breakfast I had 1 egg + 1 egg white scrambled with 1 T. turkey bacon bits, 1 slice of Trader Joe's sprouted wheat bread with 1 tsp of Natures Hollow Peach jam (my favorite~so good!!) and 1 cup of chocolate unsweetened almond milk. You aren't supposed to have any "bread carbs" in this phase and yes, today I bent that rule. I just needed a pc of TJ's toast. Its low carb & no sugar & really hit the spot so I'm not beating myself up over it because it isn't "allowed" on this part of the plan. I just need a plan where I can have my yogurt. That is one thing that I absolutely missed when I did the BFC last time. I LOVE my yogurt!!
I'm battling a nasty cold that has been lingering for over a week now but I think I'm on the upswing now. I just wish I had a little more energy to get up & exercise but I just don't...dagnabbit! I don't feel terribly inspired in my writing this morning so I will end my post here and wish you all a great week!
Hugs to all~

Happy 2013!!
Hello to all my blogger friends from your long lost friend~ME!
Its hard to believe that a new year is here and I haven't blogged since AUGUST!!! I know, I know, shame on me!! My apologies for my absence. I guess life just got in the way and I just didn't feel like I had anything too terribly important to contribute.I have decided to start blogging again and I hope that you will join me in my weight loss journey.
The holidays came and went and now I am left picking up from where I left off....and I am still about 9# heavier than my lowest weight. (sigh) Oh well, its a new year, and I am done beating myself up. I am still doing Weight Watchers and plan to continue doing it until I reach my goal weight of 150. As of this morning, I weighed in at 182.6. A loss of 3# this week. Yay!! My lowest weight was last May when I hit 173.8 so I guess that I have 8.8# left to go to get back down to where I was and that doesn't seem too far away....less than 10#.
2012 was a year of lessons learned. I didn't really do anything earth shattering re:my weight loss. I pretty much maintained & gained & lost the same 10#. I have vowed to myself that it will not be a repeat performance in 2013. I am about 33# to goal and I plan on finishing the race. THIS YEAR...NO MORE EXCUSES!!!!
I have been dealing with a very bad cold and still stuck to my plan and had a good week overall. I am trying to eat more protein and no refined "crappy" carbs. They seem to be the "doom" of me. I must confess, I did have some things today that I shouldn't have and I really don't know why I ate them. Perhaps out of pity because of my cold?? I really don't know. But I am over it and moving forward.
So my short term goal is to be back down to 173.8 by the end of this month and I am hoping to reach my ultimate goal of 150 by the beginning of summer.I think it is do able. This is about 5# a month. I need to stay focused and to remember what I am working for. There is NOTHING out there that tastes better than thin feels and I want to know what that feels like THIS YEAR!!!
I took an updated photo of myself at the end of the year but for some reason it wont upload. Is there something they are doing different now???
Have a Happy Saturday and Happy 2013!!!!

I'm back!!!!!
Hello to all my dear girlfriends out there!!!
It has been a looooonnnng time since I have blogged & I am so sorry that I have been so out of touch. Life has been busy busy busy & I just haven't had the time or energy to blog. I am hoping to be more attentive & blog at least once a week.
So lets see, whats new here. Honestly, as I think about it, not much really. Just running to & from work & running my kids to and from activities, work & friends houses. I feel like some days my life is a blur. As far as my weight loss goes, well, I had a slip up...a BIG slip up & before I knew it, the scale was saying a number I thought I would never see again. It was very depressing. I was down to 173.8 in June and my weight on Tues of this week (my scale) said 187.5!!! What the heck!!!!! Its a slippery slope & I was sliding fast! I am still going to WW but am finding that I am just stalled out & gaining & losing the same few pounds. Very frustrating & just not feeling motivates. My clothes were fitting tighter....I could fit into my size 14s but they are snug where they weren't before & that made me very sad that I had allowed myself to mess up bad enough to have such a big gain. So alot of the girls at work are having amazing success on "The 17 day Diet" by Dr. Mike Moreno so I decided on Tues that I would give it my "all out" effort & give it a try because I needed a boost to get me going again & I will NOT weigh 190 ever again and that number was just a stones throw away.
So let me tell you about this 17 day diet. OMG! you wanna talk about RAPID weight loss girls!! Holy cow!!! I started on Tues at 187.5 (my scale) and this morning I weighed 181.5!!! A 6# weight loss in 3 days!!!! I had to get on the scale about 5x to believe it.This diet is pretty easy to follow & is based on a metabolic confusion. He pretty much states that if you follow the diet as planned, women can lose up to 12# in the first cycle. If I lose 12# in the first cycle, that is more than I have lost all year and I will become a true believer! It is very medically sound and very close to WW except that the first 17 day cycle you don't eat any bread carbs. You can have unlimited lean protein, 2 serving of low glycemic fruit (berries etc) before 2pm , 1-2 servings of healthy oils and unlimited veggies and you also take probiotics as well as 2 servings of yogurt or pro biotic rich foods like kefir or acidopholus milk (which is not sold in my town, not that I would want to drink anything with a name like that. It sounds disgusting). The girls at work are all averaging about 8# loss in the first week of cycle one & I think I may follow suit. It is exciting & encouraging to see the scale going down every day. so I will keep you all posted as to how its going. I went on Dr. Mike Moreno's FB site & "liked" him (and btw` he is smokin HOT HOT HOT!!!) I wrote him a message earlier today and he actually responded back to me with a personal message! It may be someone managing his site for him but I have a feeling he did it himself.
Here is my post & his reply.
Sherri Lojewski
Can I just tell ya...I wanna stay on this plan just to let him know how I did in the first cycle!!! lol! I know that Jorge never responds & I think that is terrible. I am feelin the love from Dr. Mike! lol!!! ;)
So that's what new with me. We shall see what transpires. If you are interested in checking out the diet, google 17 day diet. Like I said, I needed a push to get me restarted & I think this may just be the answer.

If you need to shed pounds fast and in a safe and effective way, this book is for you! Unlike many diet programs that starve you down to size, Dr. Mike Moreno’s 17 Day Diet relies on proven methods to help you take the weight off and keep it off. His revolutionary program adjusts your body metabolically so that you burn fat, day in and day out. Each 17 day Cycle “Accelerate, Activate, Achieve and Arrive” changes your calorie count and the foods you eat. This variation that Dr. Mike coined as “body confusion” keeps your metabolism guessing, and you can expect to lose up to 10 to 12 pounds in the first 17 days! As an added bonus, the 17 Day Diet includes sample meal plans and a recipe section filled with tasty, easy and healthy food options. Whether you need to lose those last 10 pounds or drop 10 dress sizes, the 17 Day Diet is the perfect jump-start to a healthier, thinner you!
I promise to be a better blogger!
Love to you all!

I started your 17 day diet on Tues & am down 6# as of this morning...in 3 days! I have lost almost 40# with Weight Watchers over the past 18 months & have been stalled for quite some time. This is a great plan, medically sound and has the p...

principles of the WW plan, just limiting carbs. I am excited to see what Day 17 will bring & what my weight loss total will be. Thank you for sharing your wisdom & a fantastic weight loss plan. :)
Dr. Mike Moreno Sherri well done . You will make any goal you have , thanks for the nice comments. 14 more days of cycle 1 . It gets easier and you will get more motivated. Please keep me posted.... dm

Remember me??????
Hello all!!!
OMIGOSH!!! It has been about 5- 6 weeks from my last post since I have blogged and I am soooo sorry to have been away so long! Life is crazy busy now and the girls are in full swing with softball & soccer. Every day is filled with work & then coming home to pick up or take someone somewhere. When may is over, I think I will be able to breathe again. Sorry for my absence.
On the weight loss front, things are looking up! I weighed in at 173.8 last Saturday...an all time low for me in I cant tell you how long!! I want to break into that 160s & am hoping my Memorial Day to make that happen. I will then take another photo. when I hit 169.5 that will take me to 50# lost. Its only 4.3# away!!! So close I can taste it!!! I am hanging in there. It feels so hard lately and my enthusiasm waxes & wanes but I refuse to throw in the towel until I see 150 on the scale. I need to start toning up though..I'm very "soft" & I don't like that. Cant stand that roll of fat under the boobs....what the heck is it with that???!!
An update on the taste buds....I got them back!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)!!!!! Happy Happy Happy!!!!! They came back all of a sudden about 1 week after Easter. My little Easter miracle. The ENT I saw said he thinks a virus settled in one of the nerves. I am thankful to have my taste buds back!!!
I am gonna get caught up on the blogs today. I have missed you all!! I promise I will stay in touch more.
Love to all~

Apologies & Atonement....
Hi friends!
Its been a while...I know....and I am sorry. Today is Saturday and I did not weigh in because I met a friend for coffee & to talk. We were the best of friends in high school and over the years have always stayed in touch. The past 3 years we have been very close & some incidents transpired & we had some words last year & haven't spoken since. It was kind of ugly to be quite honest, and today, it was time to make amends. We talked for about an hour and a half at a local coffee spot, said our "I'm sorry's" and talked about things that were said regretfully and all is now water under the bridge, and I couldn't be happier to have my friend back in my life! There is something to be said about the power of forgiveness. It truly does free the soul!
As it would be, the scale at my house was looking very good too! I think I was down about 1#, but it was more important for me to have atonement with my friend. I have no regrets. My friend also commented that I had lost alot of weight. Made me feel good to hear that!
The taste buds are still status quo. I thought they were getting better, but honestly, not really. Food in general just tastes yucky. I find myself searching for something that tastes good and I think that's why I'm not dropping weight like crazy. I should be for heavens sake!
Tomorrow starts a new month and I want April to be a month of focus and weight loss. I want to be on program 100% all of the time like Rosalie. That is my goal for the month.
On a fun side note, I went to Kohl's with my 30% off coupon that expired today and bought some really adorable Capri's. I LOVE Capri's and pray they never go out of style! I bought a denim pr, a white pr with really cute white embroidery around the front & back pockets , a pr of white Levis shorts for summer, and also another pr of black Capri's that are the Chaps brand which fit me like a glove usually. I had to special order a pr (they didn't have enough in stock) in a size 16 for some reason. I did buy a pr of them in 14s but they just feel too snug & I have the ole muffin top when I wear them. I know another 10# off & they will look better but until then, I will wear the 16s & have them look decent. I got them for $13 with my 30% off, Kohl's cash & free shipping. Cant beat that! Everything else was bought in a size 14 still but I would rather have something fit properly than buy something smaller that I will look like a sausage in or will never wear. I also bought a few tops the other day & I think I will need to take the one back & get a medium...its just too big, even my hubby agrees. And to think that 1 year ago I was wearing an XL or 1X in Womens. I think underneath it all, there is a skinny chick waiting to be hatched. lol. I do have small wrists & ankles & these darned legs are getting so skinny!! I wish it would go from my belly instead. I know, I know, I need to follow the BFC! Im not kidding here though, the legs on pants are getting pretty baggy these days. I do wish I had nice curves though & a nice waist. I am kind of straight up & down. I need to wear a mid rise or something a little higher up to give the illusion of a waist. I envy people with nice curves although there are probably alot of people who envy a skinny butt & legs which I have.
So that's it for this girl tonight. Hope you are all doing great! Miss you all and sorry to be such a stranger. Life's been busy with soccer & softball games after school & then throw work in too and by the time I get home, I'm exhausted!
Hugs to you all

Feeling hopeful today............
Hello friends!
Well, I don't want to jump the gun or get too excited here, but I think that my taste buds may be on the mend! I had some yogurt with my lunch today and I could almost taste the raspberry in it. It had a hint of taste to it and wasn't bitter like it has been. I couldnt get past taking a bit of yogurt and usually ended up throwing it out so finishing the whole container was a victory of sorts (in a weird way!).I came home and gave it my daily frosting test. I have been taking 1 tsp of frosting every day to see if I can taste it and today, it had more taste than it has all month! I could tell it was vanilla and it wasn't awful tasting like it has been. Perhaps things are regenerating?? I don't know, but I am feeling hopeful and just wanted to let you all know. I will continue to pray about it but perhaps things are getting better.
Thanks for your sweet comments & concern. You are all wonderful friends and I appreciate your emotional support during this challenging time . I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy. Its no picnic when nothing tastes good.
I am going to make some veggie soup now so gonna say goodnight!

I get by with a little help from my friends....please!
Hello all!
Well, today is Saturday and it is usually weigh in day for me but today, I decided not to go to WW. I just wasn't in the mood to rah rah about everyone else's success. Isn't that terrible of me to say? I have been in my pity party of one lately and the loss of taste has made me a bit despondent & feeling hopeless that I wont regain my taste of anything pleasant (sweet).I feel like I have been pretty good, although it has been very challenging to eat since my taste buds have gone to the wayside. Its going on a month in a few days and it is VERY depressing to say the least. You would think I would be dropping weight like crazy not eating alot but not the case here. I feel so "stuck" and I want to get my weight loss going again and so I need your help all my BFC friends. Since fruit & yogurt and anything sweet for that matter taste absolutely awful, I would really like your help to try the BFC again. I LOVE WW....don't get me wrong, but I cant eat the things I used to and until my taste buds return( I pray they do!!!) I would really like to give this plan a good whirl & see if it can help me get "Unstuck". So if you all would, can you please give me some good tips that have worked for you and tell me some good things to start eating on the BFC. I will warn you, I am not a huge egg fan and they are one of the things that don't taste great. I can pretty much eat anything that isn't sweet and is rather neutral or bland. Chicken, fish (not a big fan of that) pretty much any kind of meat, etc all go down OK without bad aftertaste. Sprouted wheat bread and peanut butter are 2 of the things that I can tolerate best. No Natures Hollow, No coconut bread, no coffee (oh how I miss this one!!)...its all yucky to my taste buds & leaves a horrible aftertaste. I have a really hard time eating all the fat that is allowed on this plan & I think that's why I struggled so much with it before. I would like to try a lower fat version if possible. Your input is valued & appreciated. :) I know so many of you have had incredible success on this and I really need help getting rid of my belly. My legs & butt are pretty skinny now and I really dont need to lose any more in those areas. I need help with my apple middle. I want to lose this belly!
My weight is holding steady at around 174.5-175. I want to break into the 160s by Easter (169) and I am hoping this might give me the push I need. Also, would you please post how much you lost on your first few weeks following BFC & the things you noticed most. Thanks girls.
Not much else going on here....same old, same old... Hope all is well with you.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Love & Hugs~

So I saw the Dr. today.....
Hi Friends
Well, just got back from the ENT Dr. appt and he found nothing wrong with me, as I suspected. I feel fine & didn't think I had a sinus infection or an ear infection. I was following up with a Medical Dr. as I was told by my dentist. He said that my dentist "needs to do better" and come up with a reason why this happened. He thinks it is related to the dental procedure/Novocaine. He did order a CAT scan as well as a B12 level but he said they are long shots as he thinks they will come back negative. So where do I go now? I don't know. I have a call in to the dentists office & am waiting for them to call me back. I am afraid I will get weepy & I don't want to do that but on the other hand, I don't want to live my life not being able to taste again. I pray this isn't my fate. I wish I never had to have this done. I cant stand the awful taste in my mouth and the thought of never being able to taste anything pleasant again is beyond words....beyond depressing.
So that's my update. Sorry its not a very upbeat post here. I'm just not feeling very happy these days. I will just leave it up to God to fix this one. Thanks for listening.

An update....with photos!
Hi friends!
Well, its been awhile (again) since I have posted so I figured I would give you all an update on the taste bud situation. Sad to report that absolutely NOTHING has changed and I still cant taste anything but bitter and sour. It is going on 3 weeks in a few days and it has been quite a miserable few weeks. I have been googling like a crazy person and have an appt to see and ENT (Ear Nose & Throat ) specialist tomorrow. Praying he will be able to shed some light on the situation and offer me an effective treatment plan. I hate to sound like such a downer lately but when all you can taste is metallic/bitter 24/7, it makes for one to become a bit cranky, and I have definitely become a bit cranky for sure. Fruit tastes terrible. coffee tastes awful too. Anything remotely sweet gives me a horrible bitter aftertaste. Here's a good analogy for you. Imagine the taste of getting hairspray in your mouth....that's what my mouth tastes. It is disgusting! Ive read that disruptions in taste can be re: to ear & sinus infections. I feel great but perhaps I have a "silent" infection??? I don't know but it is very depressing to eat anymore. Please say a little prayer that this will end soon.
Now, You would think that I would be dropping pounds left and right now, wouldn't you?? Well, not the case! I lost .2# last week (that's not 2#, its .2 or 4 ozs! *sigh*), and stayed the same this week. My scale says 174.5. WW scale says 176. Damn clothes! Why cant we weigh in behind a private screen naked! lol. I should invent some weigh in clothing that is feather light for those who weigh in at WW. I think I would be rich, sipping a cold drink somewhere on a sandy beach somewhere warm! Anyone out there who can sew and want to join me in inventing this???lol! Anyways, I am 174.5 on my scale and that is what I am going by. Period! My goal is still to hit 169.8 (minimum) by Easter and by golly, come hell or high water, I am gonna fricken do it!!! Grrrrrr! I know that I need to be more active so with the weather being so nice, I am going to get out and walk at least 2 miles each day. Tomorrow morning I plan to hit the gym in the am & then take an evening walk after supper. We have had beautiful warm weather and I need to take advantage of it while it lasts. My sister and I walked about 2 1/4 miles today and it felt great to do that again. She is wonderful company and the time goes by so fast and there is never a loss of conversation. I LOVE my sister!!! She is really starting to show her weight loss too!
I put on my pair of Capri's today that I wore at the start of my journey at my parents anniversary party in Sept 2010. I will try to post the picture for you all to see how big they are on me now. Even though the scale has been at a snails pace (my fault for dilly dallying these last few months) when I put on these pants, I am reminded of how far I truly have come and it gives me the push to keep going. I cant wait to see that 169 on the scale and to buy a pr of size 12 jeans and not have them be tight. I can put on a 12 and zip them but I have muffin top explosion and its just not a pretty sight! lol.
Sept 6, 2010 I am in the black & white sweater (2nd from left) Sorry the picture is not closer so you can see but I was very good at trying to hide & conceal my "largeness" behind other people. BTW~ This is my family. :) Favorite sister & WW buddy Rose is on the Far Right in the light blue blouse. :) You should see how great she looks with 35# off. Wish I had a good pic to post of her but I dont.
Aug 2010 @ my 25th class reunion with a classmate. I know its not a great picture but you can see that my fat was hanging over the edge these capris .There was no extra room!
Well girls...I will say goodnight for now. Wishing you all well. You are all in my thoughts.
Hugs & thanks for listening to me ramble about the tastebud dilemma. Its been challenging, scary & kind of consuming my life lately. You are all good friends to listen. Thank you!!!!
