I get by with a little help from my friends....please!

Hello all!

Well, today is Saturday and it is usually weigh in day for me but today, I decided not to go to WW. I just wasn't in the mood to rah rah about everyone else's success. Isn't that terrible of me to say? I have been in my pity party of one lately and the loss of taste has made me a bit despondent  & feeling hopeless that I wont regain my taste of anything pleasant (sweet).I feel like I have been pretty good, although it has been very challenging to eat since my taste buds have gone to the wayside. Its going on a month in a few days and it is VERY depressing to say the least. You would think I would be dropping weight like crazy not eating alot but not the case here. I feel so "stuck" and I want to get my weight loss going again and so I need your help all my BFC friends. Since fruit & yogurt and anything sweet for that matter taste absolutely awful, I would really like your help to try the BFC again. I LOVE WW....don't get me wrong, but I cant eat the things I used to and until my taste buds return( I pray they do!!!) I would really like to give this plan a good whirl & see if it can help me get "Unstuck". So if you all would, can you please give me some good tips that have worked for you and tell me some good things to start eating on the BFC. I will warn you, I am not a huge egg fan and they are one of the things that don't taste great. I can pretty much eat anything that isn't sweet and is rather neutral or bland. Chicken, fish (not a big fan of that) pretty much any kind of meat, etc all go down OK without bad aftertaste. Sprouted wheat bread and peanut butter are 2 of the things that I can tolerate best. No Natures Hollow, No coconut bread, no coffee (oh how I miss this one!!)...its all yucky to my taste buds & leaves a horrible aftertaste. I have a really hard time eating all the fat that is allowed on this plan & I think that's why I struggled so much with it before. I would like to try a lower fat version if possible. Your input is valued & appreciated. :) I know so many of you have had incredible success on this and I really need help getting rid of my belly. My legs & butt are pretty skinny now and I really dont need to lose any more in those areas. I need help with my apple middle. I want to lose this belly!

My weight is holding steady at around 174.5-175. I want to break into the 160s by Easter (169) and I am hoping this might give me the push I need. Also, would you please post how much you lost on your first few weeks following BFC & the things you noticed most. Thanks girls.

Not much else going on here....same old, same old... Hope all is well with you.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Love & Hugs~
Sherri

  2. Oh Sherri, I'm so sorry:( I hope they get this thing figured out! I have a blog that has all the things that I eat on it. It was last month I think. I also do myfitnesspal...and you can see everything I eat on there too.
Do you like pepperoni? I eat that on the sandwich thins, that is spicy and may taste OK? Bacon? Little smokies and mustard? In order to do the real BFC though you can't have regular milk either. That's your entire day of sugar. I only eat a lot of fat when I want to, not because I have to?
I would love to help more...Whatever I can do! Hugs my friend!

    1. Thanks Kay. I would really like to try to avoid processed meats if possible. I feel like I am salting my food way too much since I lost my taste. I do drink almond milk and like it...usually the unsweetened chocolate. I have been drinking that for over 2 yrs. Thanks for your input. xo

  3. Hi Sherri,

I can't believe this is going on for so long now. Do you have any other upcoming appointments? I can't even begin to think of what to suggest for you since what you can eat seems so random. All I can think to suggest is that you simply start trying all the various vegetables available to you to see which ones are tolerable so that you are at least getting a good source of vitamins/minerals and fiber along with the meats you can tolerate. Since you said you can do the chocolate almond milk, have you tried my bread pudding idea? Maybe the minute muffin would be bland enough for you (leave out the sweetener if you think that would help) and then you can just use the chocolate almond milk to pour over the top of it???

  4. I just have faith that your taste will return in time! The main thing I noticed when I first started losing was that I just felt really good. I didnt notice any weight loss on my body yet, but I felt great. That alone kept me going. My Mom and Sister have been very serious on WW for 2.5 years now and get stuck very often. They just keep going and eventually they lose again. They are both getting close to their goals, about 15 lbs away now.

  5. Oh Sherri, I'm so sorry you are down and out. And also for what is going on with your tastebuds. I am not the best one to ask, because I've only lost a little over 10 lbs, and it's taken my forever. But I do cheat alot with my carbs and then there's that wine of mine! That being said, I do believe that this is the plan for me, and my sugars are always within the limits. I've stopped that wild craving stuff I used to go through. I like the eggs in a mug, but I know you are not an egg girl. I have really been into the flaxseed muffin too and this morning I had the almond flour pancakes. For lunch I do use those sandwich thins and today I had turkey breast ( real turkey sliced) from whole foods on a thing with lettuce, mayo and cheese. Dinner is always hard for me, because we eat out alot. I try not to have any bread or white carbs. Hang in there! We're all here for each other. Love and hugs!!

  6. Sherri, I am so sorry to hear that your taste has not come back. I don't think you should stop WW. I know that in time you will lose again. You can still follow the plan and keep your food bland. I just know that the support from your class will keep you going and your sister is there for support too. When do you have your doctor appt? Hugs to you!

    1. I just read your blog regarding your doctor appt. I think that it could be something to do with the dentist and the injection. I hope that they call you back so you can find some answers.
