A new month and a new beginning!

Good morning friends!

I'm back!!! Well, looks like I done a real doozie to myself  and I have gained about 20# back from my lowest weight. It is so disheartening because I feel like I have been at this for such a long time, but truth be told, my heart hasn't been in it for quite some time, and I honestly don't know why. I feel like I am obsessed with losing weight but I haven't done anything about it....and I'm still going to Weight Watchers!! I'm almost embarrassed to even be sitting there because its been 3 years now and I am gaining weight but I have met some wonderful friends there and they have been great support to me so I plan to continue to go. My middle sister Chris reached her goal last August. She looks great and she is very inspiring. She lives the plan, every day. Something I haven't done. I live the plan Monday - Friday and have taken the weekends off. Been doing this for a long time. Guess what Sher....How's that been working for ya?? Ummm....not so good! So its time to pull up the bootstraps once again and get back on the horse!!

So, I'm back and I'm ready to give it my best! With Lent starting on Wednesday, I wanted to do something that was a true sacrifice & challenge. For the last 3 years, I have given up diet pop/soda. This year, I have decided to do something a little different. If you remember., last year I did a diet called "The 17 Day Diet" by Dr Mike Moreno. It is a healthy diet plan with rapid results when you follow the program correctly. The best part is, even though I had only lost 12# I looked like I had lost more. I wasn't bloated, I lost 3 inches off my belly and people really noticed the change in me. So my plan is to follow the 17dd "Full out", no cheating starting today and through Easter. You may be thinking, "Sherri, that's just not right" but I think this is what I need to turn myself around and get back on track. The first 2 cycles are challenging but once you get into the groove of it, its actually pretty easy to do. The hardest part is not cheating, as is with any plan.

The 17 Day Diet consists of (4) 17 day cycles. Cycle 1 (C1) is the strictest but it is where you are detoxing from sugar and carbs for the first 17 days.  I have found C1 to be the most rewarding as you feel great on it and you consistently lose weight and you can not only feel the difference but you can SEE the difference! There are 3 more 17 day cycles. I wont elaborate on them now but I will as I go along. So today is Day 1 of Cycle 1 (D1C1) and I'm ready!! I just weighed in....its ugly! I'm not posting my weight but I will post my losses.

I hope you will join me these next 43 days and beyond. My daughter graduates from High School on June 11th and I don't want to hide from the camera. I want to be happy with myself, and how I look and feel. Right now, I feel miserable that I have allowed myself to gain back 20# of the over 40# that I had lost. No more beating myself up though. Its time to forgive myself and move on! Today is a new day....the slate is wiped clean!

Have a wonderful day!!!
Sherri

  1. I am so glad that you are back!!! We can do this, together! I remember when you did the 17 day diet and it really worked well for you.
A senior? Don't you just wonder where the time has gone? You will be beautiful no matter what size you are, but I know for me, my face is so much happier when I am feeling good about myself.
    Welcome back, and blog....it works!!!
