Time to mix things up!

Hello to all my Sisters in the quest of Skinny!

Well, yesterday was weigh in day & I am sad to say, 179 didn't happen this week. I actually GAINED 2#! Arrgh!! I was so hopeful because on Monday the scale looked so promising but oh well, it happens & I am forgiving myself & moving on. Its a new day & a new week! The topic of next weeks WW class is getting unstuck. I am anxious to attend that one cuz I feel like somebody planted my feet in a pot of cement! lol.

Anyways, since purchasing my size 14 jeans, I cant help but try those darned things on daily if not sometimes more than that. The one pair actually makes my butt look skinny & you can see daylight through my legs!! haha! But what is disturbing me is the whole muffin top thing goin on. All of the jeans that I bought have a low rise, which I have always wanted to wear because I think they are very "on trend" & I hate the whole "Grandma jeans" thing, but the problem is with the low rise brings out the muffins & I am not liking that at all!! we will still be wearing shorts & Capri's for another month or so so I feel like I have some "leash" as far as doing something about it. I have been reading all of your blogs & looking at your photos & I have to tell you, there is something to be said about the whole sugar/carbs thing. It is so apparent the differences I can  you see in your bellies by watching these 2 areas. I love WW & it has been working well for me but I feel like I am "stuck" in the 180s & have been for months & it is not only getting old but frustrating. I feel like I need to mix things up a bit and seeing all of your successes has inspired me to try doing the BFC lifestyle for a week & see what happens. I do remember that when I was following it, I had very little to no bloating, my tummy always felt flatter, & when I looked in the mirror my belly actually looked different. I know you know what I'm talking about. So starting today, I am giving it a whirl to see if I can break into the 170s. Its worth a try. I do still plan to do WW though...I just may need to make some tweaks along the way with sugar & carb intake. I know that I have been eating way too much of both lately & I am thinking its the reason I saw a gain this week. The homemade heath bars, cookie dough etc...even though I accounted for it I think it was just too much.

I love Dawns post about the mid years resolution. I would love to reach goal of 150 by the end of the year but I know its rather lofty to dream that big, but "dreaming is what aspires us to be that which we want to become" and I want to become SKINNY!!!! So I am putting it out there & dreaming big!!!

I hope you all have a great Sunday!!!

Blessings to all!
Sherri

  1. Hi Sherri. Funny your post and the one I just wrote seem to coincide. I know I am taking in too many carbs. Going to try and be much stricter this week. We are at the beach for vacation so it will be a challenge with my skinnny sons around and all their junk food! I think you are right about the WW and still watching the s/c intake. I think counting the points ( really calories) and also watching the sugar and carbs is the key. That's alot of watching though!! Good luck to both of us this week!

  2. Hi Sherri, I know its hard at times being around other people who eat a ton of junk food. Try to be strong and maybe by combining the 2 you can get a perfect fit for you. Don't give up! :-)

  3. Think skinny! Make yourself the goal - what's the worst that can happen? You might get close. If you don't make the goal, then you won't get nearly as close as if you do. You can do this!! Let's see, 30 pounds in 3 months. Hard, but I think you can make a HUGE dent in it if you don't make it all the way.

I am using Strivectin HD on my stretch marks. They are still there, you just can't see them in the picture, but I see big improvements in the color and texture, etc. It's not cheap, but you can get it at Costco for a decent price. I am really happy with how it's effecting the look of my belly.

  4. I SWEAR the sugar is the key. I know carbs are a big part of it, but the sugar is what I have gotten rid of and I can't tell you how much belly fat. Seriously... my before picture was with a shaper on that had bra hooks all the way up the front to really hold you in. It was tight! I called it my uni body, I was the same size all the way up. (boobs, upper belly, waist, gut, hips) I have lost over 6 inches right above my belly button, that seems to be where the fatty cells blossomed. It was so weird to see it? I also had a rib out of alignment a few years back, so one of my ribs is kind of funny under my booby, fat pooled on that rib, seriously you could see it sticking out in t-shirts. Now it is flat like my other rib. It is fascinating really. I still have fat, but I have been at this less than 6 months. Once I got past the sugar, felt the sense of empowerment and realized sugar didn't control me, this has been pretty easy to adapt to. If I fall, I start back the next day.
I have said before, I love WW, I know a lot of people who have been really successful, but for Belly Fat....I am proof...the BFC works amazing!!!
I have to say though that I think you have to go all in for at least 2 weeks. Use the chart in the book and be vigilant on your S/C for the day. If you run out, no more! Getting it out of your system is truly what I think will help you be successful. DETOX,DETOX, DETOX!!!
I am here to help and thank you for your kind words. At the party we went to last night one of my old friends said, "oh Kay, you are just so cute". It made my night, it also made the peach cobbler less enticing!

  5. Hi Sherri,
I KNOW what you mean about the muffin top!! Even though I've lost a bit of weight I still have that muffin top left to go. For me, I'm losing the weight everywhere, my arms, face, stomach, it's kind of even. Of course I would love it if the fat would just melt completely from my belly first, but for me it's an all over kind of thing going on. I've never done WW and was curious as to how many calories they allow you per day? Maybe it wouldn't hurt if I started watching my over all calories a little.

You dont count calories on WW, you get a daily points plus allowance & that is your caloris "budget" for the day. You also get 49 extra points yyou can use throughout the week on extras & you can earn activity points too for exercising. ITs a very easy program to follow.
Kay, I do think there is something valid re: the sugar thing for sure! I agree that I should probably give it a full 2 weeks to evaluate but my brain only works one week at a time. Day one is down & I feel great!

  7. I agree a couple of weeks on the bfc might really help, and as for the muffin top it will come off. Mine is much much smaller but I am still working on getting my tummy flat...it feels like a lofty goal, but it's my big dream. Have a great Sunday :)

  8. Sherri, you are so skinny now and I am the fat one. I have started back BFC 100% since the last few months for me have not been great. Vegas was not good for me either eating way to much and then feeling bloated and fat. I am so proud of you and you will make it into the 170's soon. I am hoping to be back blogging this week.

  9. Frito's, yummy....as my grandson would say! I just put a few on my plate and put the bag away. I use the chili cheese one's on my salad. I came home tonight and my hubby was eating salad with them on it too. Funny:)
So will you come to my Frito party?
